Rainey White is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Georgia State University. They received their Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and their Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Louisiana State University. Their research interests surround community supervision and economic sanctions. Specifically, they are interested in the confounding impacts of poverty and economic sanctions on misdemeanor probation outcomes. They are currently working with faculty and the Criminal Justice Coordinating Counsel, among others to implement and evaluate accountability courts in Georgia.
