Shelleen Akin is a PhD Student in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Georgia State University. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Criminology (2019), a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2019), and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology (2021). Shelleen’s research interest areas include cybercrime victimology and consumers of dark web content. Other areas of interest include the rise of extremist political ideology, conspiracy theories, and incidents of mass violence.
